On 23rd November 2024, LOHMS had the privilege of visiting Maraba Children’s Home, a place that provides shelter, care and education to orphaned and vulnerable children. This visit was part of our ongoing commitment to supporting communities in need and promoting the well-being of children across the region.

Safe Homes and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls Program in Kakamega
Our organization proudly participated in the official launch of the Safe Homes and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls Program in Kakamega, a pivotal initiative aimed at providing safe, supportive environments for women and girls who are survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and discrimination. The event, held in partnership with the national government, local governments, community leaders, and other organizations, marked a significant step forward in addressing the pressing issue of gender-based violence in the region.

Lean On Me Health and Sustainable Solutions recently conducted an impactful HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in Kisumu aimed at educating the community about prevention, testing and treatment. The initiative brought together health professionals, youth leaders and local residents in a series of interactive sessions that emphasized the importance of regular testing, safe practices and reducing stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. Through open dialogue, educational materials, and access to free testing services, the campaign fostered greater community engagement and empowered individuals to take charge of their health. The event marked a significant step toward promoting a more informed and supportive environment for those affected by HIV in Kisumu.

LOMHS is excited to host an interactive Career Fair & Educational Workshop designed to inspire and guide students toward fulfilling career paths. This event will feature professionals from diverse fields—including healthcare, engineering, environmental science, business, and the arts—who will share insights, career journeys, and practical advice. Students will participate in skills-building sessions, resume workshops and mentorship circles, while also exploring scholarship and internship opportunities. Our goal is to empower youth with the knowledge, confidence, and connections they need to turn their passions into professions.

Lean On Me Health and Sustainable Solutions is currently planning a comprehensive health camp training focused on telemedicine, aimed at enhancing access to healthcare through digital platforms. The upcoming training will equip healthcare providers, community health worker and volunteers with the skills and tools necessary to deliver medical consultations remotely, particularly in underserved and rural areas.

Lean On Me Health and Sustainable Solutions is in the process of organizing a solar workshop aimed at promoting clean energy solutions and building community capacity in sustainable technologies. The workshop will focus on practical training in solar energy installation, maintenance, and usage, targeting local youth, technicians, and community members.
